“A great home starts with a floor plan that works. While the photos in our gallery show a variety of building styles, the logic of those homes—how the rooms connect and how the space flows—is what truly makes them successful.

The Sample Plans aren’t really a Plan Book, nor are they kits you can purchase. They aren’t even tied to any single building system. They are simply a representation of various floor plans and exterior ideas that can help you clarify your own Wishlist. It is our hope that they will serve as reference points for discussion about your own unique needs.

Think of these as a reliable head start. If a layout here catches your eye, we can adapt it to fit your specific land, your local building codes, and your preferred construction style. It’s a practical way to begin your project with a foundation of award-winning design, tailored specifically to your needs.

Aspen Ridge - Sample Plan

2710 Square Feet, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths

This is our most popular log home plan for good reasons. The classic arrangement of central Great Room with the Kitchen and Dining Room to one side and a main floor Master Bedroom to the other is very appealing to many. Combine that with four bedrooms upstairs and there is a lot of house here for the size. This plan also allows lots of flexibility in the upper floor planning. In some cases, we have reduced the number of bedrooms by creating a second Master Suite or other combinations of bedrooms and bathrooms.

Beech Lake Sample Plan

4272 Square Feet, 5 Bedrooms, 5 Baths

This is a luxurious log home floor plan that meets the needs of those needing a little more space and amenities-great for families with growing kids. The main floor features an open Great Room with cathedral ceiling, a large Kitchen with peninsula, a large fully-appointed Master Suite, a side entrance Mudroom/Laundry and two half Baths, one luxurious for guests, and the other next to the Mudroom and garage for easy proximity to the outdoors. The upper floor plan has four bedrooms and two additional bathrooms, a generous Loft and a large bonus/Family Room over top the two car garage. Top this plan off with generous decks and it’s perfect for families that know how to combine indoor and outdoor living.

Birch Crest Sample Plan

2331 Square Feet, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths

An Award-winning log home plan, the Birch Crest packs a lot into its relatively small size. It is very functional, yet has a distinctive exterior appearance. A wrap-around front porch leads to both a generous Entry Foyer and a large Mudroom/Laundry Entrance. The Kitchen features a large Breakfast bar and a convenient Pantry. The Master Suite is generous yet efficient in function and has its own private deck.

A small Loft overlooks the Great Room and services three generous upper floor Bedrooms.

Cedar Valley Sample Plan

2710 Square Feet, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths

Where’s the ranch? This log home is simple in its lines, yet luxurious in its content. The main floor plan design feels like a Rancher, yet within the roof form there is a generous upper floor. Main floor features include a grand Entry with vaulted ceiling and fireplace with adjacent Den or a large Office, a simple yet spacious Great Room with cathedral ceilings, a huge Kitchen and Pantry and Laundry wing with a convenient Garage entrance; and a very private main floor Master Suite complete with sitting room and fireplace, and a large 4-piece Master Bathroom and Walk-in Closet.
The grand staircase leads up to a huge loft overlooking the Great Room with enough space for a lounge, play area, office or reading nook. One wing has two bedrooms, one of which could double as a Guest Suite. The other wing has another Bedroom and a huge Bonus Room.

Cherrydale Plan Sample Design

1750 Square Feet (plus lower level), 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths

Log or timber post and beam, a great family home for a sloping lot. An open L-shaped plan puts the vaulted Great Room center with Kitchen and Utility room to one side and a generous main floor Master Bedroom suite to the other. Opportunities for luxury or simplicity. There are three Bedrooms downstairs surrounding a large Gamesroom. Under the garage is room for plenty of storage or a self-contained workshop.

Cypress Gorge Plan Sample Design

3484 Square Feet, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths

The large wrap-around porch gives this log home design a classic appearance, yet the floor plan is both unique and efficient. A grand central staircase opens onto the Entry Foyer, the Living Room and the Dining Room. The large Kitchen is conveniently accessed directly from the Garage through a generous Mudroom/Laundry. There is also large private Office off the Entry Foyer, which could serve as a fifth Bedroom. The Main Floor Plan is completed by a small Den complete with fireplace.

While the Living Room has a partial cathedral ceiling, the payoff is a large upper floor plan design with a large Loft with its own fireplace, a large Master Suite with fireplace and three additional Bedrooms. The size of the Loft can easily be modified to allow for a larger expanse of cathedral ceiling in the Great Room below.

4154 Square Feet, 4 Bedrooms, 5 Baths

Luxurious log or timber post and beam design filled with light. Ideal for entertaining or a site with multiple views. Also works well on a sloping lot with the garage underneath. The home is loaded with multiple features from the skylit breezeway to the dramatic Great Room, topped off with clerestory windows. The main floor Master Bedroom is accessed by its own breezeway, set well away from the main living spaces. A variety of covered and open decks including one with an outdoor fireplace, offering the best of outdoor living.

2160 Square Feet, 3 Bedrooms, 4 Baths

A cottage plan with a few wonderful twists, from a wonderful main floor Master Bedroom to a second Master Suite in the walk out Basement. An open, yet cozy plan that packs a lot into its floor area. The upper floor Loft overlooks the Great Room and has lots of room for sleeping. It can easily be sectioned off into two Bedrooms. It has a generous wrap-around porch with two covered porches.

Laurel Valley Sample Plan

1340 Square Feet, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath

This small cottage plan packs a lot into a simple footprint. All the living takes place on a single floor except for a generous sleeping loft. Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen are all good-sized and with cathedral ceilings. There are two main floor Bedrooms flanking a three-piece Bathroom. A unique feature of this efficient floor plan is that all rooms have bay windows.

1278 Square Feet, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath

This log cottage design has three bedrooms for those busy weekends. The Great Room has a large central fireplace underneath a generous cathedral ceiling. The Kitchen has a small eat-in table with bay window or the cabinetry and countertop can be expanded as desired. The Dining Room also features a bay window. The main floor is completed with a Bedroom, Bathroom and Laundry/Storage.

Wrapping around the fireplace, the stair opens onto a loft dormer which also overlooks the Great Room. Two Bedrooms complete the upper floor plan.

Pine Brook Sample Design

This simple small log home plan is perfect for one person or a couple. Virtually all its living space is efficiently laid out on one floor. Amenities include an open Great Room with vaulted ceilings throughout, an ample Kitchen with its own access to the large deck. The Master Bedroom has an optional fireplace and French doors to the deck. There’s a good amount of storage and a good size sleeping Loft upstairs for guests.

This small log home plan is great for a second home. A wonderful covered porch opens into an ample Great Room with fireplace and a cathedral ceiling. The kitchen is small but efficient. There is generous storage and even a Laundry off the rear entrance. Atop the stairs is a small loft overlooking the Great Room and two Bedrooms.

This innovative log home floor plan has many interesting features, yet packs a lot into an area of under 3000 SF. A generous Foyer leads into a large Great Room which opens onto a large Screened Porch. Its partial vault gives a more intimate appearance while giving great character. The large Kitchen has an island with an optional skylight over, and enough room for two or more cooks. And it’s located next to a huge Laundry/Utility Room. The Master Suite has a private deck and optional skylights.

The upper floor plan has a wonderful little loft overlooking the Great Room and opening onto a large rooftop deck. And to top things off there are three more Bedrooms, two of which open onto a balcony.

Willow Creek

2717 Square Feet, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths

This classic one-level rancher is loaded with features. For example, a large fireplace opens on two sides to the Living Room and the Dining Room. It even is connected to a Barbeque on the spacious living deck. The Master Suite is separated by an alcove from the living spaces and it is generous in all ways, including a large sitting room with private deck. The main floor plan is completed by two additional bedrooms, both with bay windows, and a large Mudroom/Laundry connected to the garage.
